Twickenham Stadium Six Nations Venue England

Twickenham is the home of the England Rugby team and it is a great stadium having undergone major investment in the last 10 years. It is tradition for many of the fans to visit many of the Pubs on the river Thames before and after the game.

For those of you looking for some of the history of the ground the very first International took place in 1910 and Wales were the visiting nation and England won this game.

Today Twickenham has a capacity of over 80,000 and this is just as well considering the difficulty in getting tickets for the big games of the Six Nations Championship.

Car - Off the A316 Chertsey Road, then left into the B361 Whitton Road, or cross straight into Rugby Road.

Rail - Twickenham main line station is about 10 minutes walk from the stadium. Turn right out of the stadium onto London Road, then on to Whitton Road. There is a regular service to Twickenham from London Waterloo and Clapham Junction.

Tube - Richmond is The nearest London Underground station, which is on the District line. Two miles from Twickenham stadium with a taxi rank at the station entrance.

Air - Twickenham is 11 miles from London Heathrow and 30 miles from London Gatwick.

England Six Nations 2008 Fixtures at Twickenham

England open their Six Nations 2008 challenge by playing Wales at Twickenham on Saturday 2nd February. Their only other home fixture is their last game against Ireland which takes place on the 15th March.
