Six Nations Championship 2006 Results
The 2006 Six Nations results amounted up to a fantastic finish all going down to the last day when France beat Wales and this in effect was enough to beat the Irish on points scored as they had a far superior points scored difference. On the final day Ireland kept up the pressure on France by beating England at Twickenham in another very close match.
Scotland did very well in 2006 with a total of six points beating England in the Calcutta Cup at Murrayfield in what was a very tight and close affair.
England once again did not perform up to their usual standards and finished in fourth place and they in effect were thrashed by France in their six nations fixture and had close games with Ireland and Scotland. Once again Italy picked up the wooden spoon.
