England Lock Simon Shaw Out of Opener

The England lock Simon Shaw is out of the early stages of the six nations following his akle injury in the Heineken Cup match against Munster at the weekend. This is the start of the injury news as their is only a short time to the opening match of the six nations which gets underway the first Saturday in February.

Shaw was carried off in the second half after falling awkwardly in a scrum and as he has soft tissue damage this will keep him on the sidelines for several weeks. He maybe able to make his way back for the third match of the campaign.

A Wasps spokesperson said: "There was no break to the ankle but Simon sustained soft tissue damage. "He is still in discomfort and will be out for several weeks."
