Jonny Wilkinson has been dropped from the England team to face Ireland at Twickenham on Saturday in favour of Wasps Fly-Half Danny Cipriani.
Wilkinson's omission comes less than a week after breaking the record for number of points scored in test rugby, kicking his 1099 point in the defeat against Scotland.
Cipriani was named in the side to face Scotland but was later dropped for being seen on a night out in london. Ashton was optimistic that his recall will bring out the best in him "He is pretty quick on his feet and hopefully we will see him now at long last out on the field in a starting XV".
