Wales clinched their third successive win of the 2008 Six Nations with a record 47-8 defeat of Itlay in Cardiff.

Two tries each from Lee Byrne and Shane Williams and one from Tom Shanklin was enough to put Italy out of sight. The other 20 points for Wales came from the boot of Stephen Jones.

The game started with 10 quick points from Jones's boot before Wales allowed Italy back in to the game and within just five point at the break. However, a convincing second half display from Warren Gatland's men put the Welsh well in control. The response from italy was none existant as Wales ran riot and put 34 points on the board in the space of 40 minutes
