France were very impressive in the first half of this Six Nations game and it was thanks to a hat trick of tries from Vincent Clerc that they had enough to see off an Ireland fight back in the second half.
When France went 26-6 up early in the second half, it looked like this could soon turn in to a landslide French victory. However, the Irish team battled and thanks to a a David Wallace try and three penalties, they closed the gap to just five points and late pressure saw France on the back foot and a surprise on the cards, however, Ireland could not capitalise on the late pressure and France left the field victorious and on course for another third consecutive Six Nations Championship.
